If you are a brony, you have probably noticed Hasbro’s terrible fan support and complete disregard of the constantly growing masses of bronies. With a lack of DVDs, no international iTunes releases of episodes (not even in the show’s native country, Canada), and simply terrible toy quality (don’t get me started on pink Celestia), Hasbro has been dealing with the fans very poorly, but is this a sign of change?
Brony or not, you probably know who Derpy Hooves is and realize that she is one of, if not the most popular pony in the fandom. Hasbro has had little nods to her popularity by adding her into episodes for a second or two, but she now has a fully voiced 1 minute scene. Does this random act of fan support mark a change in Hasbro? Are we going to start getting Dr Whooves and Big Macintosh toys, a white Celestia, and international releases of the show? Probably not in the immediate future, but the acknowledgement of the fandom, hundreds of first party shirts from WeLoveFine.com, and the inclusion of Derpy in her own scene seems to be a great sign of a future where bronies can live in harmony with the company that makes the show we hold so near and dear to our hearts. I love being overdramatic.
